YouTube Original Audio

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

YouTube Original Audio (“the extension”) is a browser extension that switches YouTube videos to the original audio track when that language matches languages you select.

What is stored

The extension stores your on/off preference and the list of preferred languages in your browser’s extension storage (storage.local and, when available, storage.sync). This data stays on your device (and in your browser account sync, if you use it). It is never sent to the developer or any other server operated by us.

What happens on YouTube

On YouTube pages, the extension reads the player’s available audio tracks and selects the original track when it matches a language you chose. That work happens entirely inside your browser. The extension does not rewrite or send player responses to any remote server.

What we do not do

We do not collect, sell, rent, or use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the extension’s stated function. We do not share data with third parties.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension removes its stored settings from your browser. If settings were synced through your browser account, clear or reset them through that account’s sync controls as well.
